Day seventeen - with Natalie

This morning we got up and left our hostel by 9:00. We took the Metro to the Science Museum. We wandered around the museum for about two hours, weaving throughout the interactive displays. We left by Metro, in the direction of the Catacombs of Paris. Before the catacombs, we made a stop for lunch. We were given lunch money and allowed to go to whatever restaurant we desired (within certain distance). Not to anyone’s surprise, most of our group went to the nearest McDonalds. After lunch, we got in line for the Catacombs. We went through a security check point and waited for the number of people inside to drop low enough for us to enter. They have a maximum of 200 people in the catacombs at any point for security reasons. It was hard to actually comprehend the amount of skulls and bones in piles. It was tempting to touch and maybe take a bone until our guide told us how people will occasionally send the bones back to the catacombs via UPS because of the misfortune they brought. After visiting the Catacombs of Paris, we made our way to the area around the theater. We had dinner at a little bakery on the corner. Madame Ayers left some time for us to look around before the play. The group split up to check out the different stores in the area. We met back up and watched the musical about the history of the Eiffel Tower. It was in an old little theater. After the musical, we walked to a Milkshake Shop and had some dessert in honor of Maggie’s Birthday. Finally we headed on our way back to the hostel for the night where there just so happened to be an open mic night happening, but there was no time for that, because we all needed sleep.

To start off today we were all either late or almost late to the time Madame Ayers set for us. She probably was annoyed, but her goal is to keep tiring us out. So eventually we all left for the metro
